augmentation of tuberous breasts
Tuberous breasts have a narrow base and a pointed shape. The lower part of the breast is usually underdeveloped, which leads to early drooping. Breast augmentation is more difficult for this shape of breasts. The tissue of the lower part of the breast in particular is difficult to stretch over the implant.
Milder variants of tuberous breasts can be operated from the inside in order to spread out the tissue more evenly. In more severe cases a staged approach may be necessary. First a tissue expander is inserted. This is an implant that can be filled gradually through the skin, in order to stretch the soft tissues. In a second operative time, the definitive implants are inserted.
